The Paradise Island Gili Nanggu in Sekotong Sub-District, Lombok - Indonesia

For example, Lombok has some small islands (Gili) scattered in different areas. One of them is located in Sekotong Sub-District and the name is Gili Nanggu. Due to its flawless beauty and serenity, many tourists even call it the Paradise Island! It feels like in a heaven spending a vacation surrounded by calm sea and quiet forest. The Nuance
The size of the island is about 12.5 hectares so it is considered small. In terms of nuance, Gili Nanggu is definitely tranquil. No disturbing noises are heard on the site. On the other hand, tourists can hear only the song of the birds and the sound of the waves. Two major features of the island are the forest and beach, actually. That means tourists can choose either to visit one of the locations or explore them all! In the beach, white sandy shoreline welcomes the tourists. Exploring Gili Nanggu
Tourists can do many fun activities in Gili Nanggu. First, it is to visit the beach featuring calm waves and soothing wind. The site is suitable for those who want to enjoy maritime beauty like multicolored fishes, corals, starfishes, and other creatures. In the tip of the shoreline, they can enjoy the breathtaking views of the sea as well. As for the tip, it is better to come in the morning or before the sunrise. The sun view creates a romantic and tranquil atmosphere, for sure!

The next activity is to visit a small forest in the middle of the island. Despite the size, it is a good spot to visit the nature and enjoy calming songs of the birds. Some couples even choose it as the place to build good memories, especially for those who are conducting a honeymoon. The best thing is that Gili Nanggu provides a good resort for them to rent during the vacation. On top of that, no one lives on the island but the management of the resort.

The only consideration is that the island is private and it is managed by the owner and staff of the resort. Even though no guards are seen on the site, tourists should not do any harmful things to the environment. That means littering is highly prohibited. What about camping in nature? Well, a resort is available so it is better to rent a cottage instead of camping, even though it costs some money.

How to Get There
As mentioned before, Gili Nanggu is located in Sekotong Sub-District. For those coming from Mataram City, they may spend about 1 hour and 30 minutes. It can be longer if the traffic is high, though. Once arriving at Sekotong, their next destination is Medang Village where they can rent a boat and cross to Nanggu.
